- <I am responding to a message about text captured into Desterm's
- buffer being double spaced. Unfortunately, I can't quote from the
- previous message because I don't know how to use my news reader
- program to post or reply to messages. This is posted by e-mail. >
-
- Bob Masse said that you could go to the buffer menu and select
- Strip control codes. This does not solve the problem. In fact,
- Desterm is set to Strip them by default. Someone else said you
- could go to the file transfer menu and change CR/LF to CR. This
- doesn't work either.
-
- What I've found is that, when using Lynx, anything captured
- into Desterm's buffer always ends up double spaced. This turned
- out to be not so much of a problem for me when I found out that I
- could download lynx documents. But when using any other Unix
- program, anything captured into the buffer is always utterly
- garbled. This is totally annoying! Usually I just have to write
- down anything I read that I want to remember.
-
- I've asked other people about this, but I have not found any
- solution. (I have not been able to transmit the buffer with
- Desterm either. Otherwise I would have transmitted the text
- of the messages to which I am responding, garbled though they would
- be.)
-
- I am sure other people must have some way of retaining info
- from the Net, besides IBM users. ??
